In 2002, a few days before Le Pen happens to challenge Chirac for the French presidence, I visited Auschwitz, Auschwitz-Birkenau and Treblinka with two former prisonners of Auschwitz.
One of them was used to go there with groups, to describe this terrible part of his life in Auschwitz (he has a little number, on his arm).
For the second, it was the first time he get back since he left the camp. I never saw another old man crying like he did when he faced the crematoriums of Auschwitz I.
I saw terrible things during this trip, things that I’ll never forget. But, the strongest moment of it, was the moment I saw him crying like a child. I cried too (and still crying when typing these words). I’ll never forget that.

We also went to Sobibor.
I also visited to Buchenwald some years ago – I really can imagine how you feel. As a German I felt really ashamed!
